Welcome to Frederick Douglas Performing Arts Academy.

Fred’s was founded by Deborah Marks fifteen years ago in Northamptonshire and has recently relocated to Essex. We are an independent, family run business that brings performing arts and musical movement to the local community and have recently won Family Business of The Year 2019 for health and welfare. We run a performing arts academy on a Saturday morning for children aged 5 to 16 and also provide tutors that take music and movement into care homes.

Our tutors have a wealth of performing arts experience and they bring out the best in our students at the performing arts academy. All our tutors hold a DBS Certificate and have a First Aid qualification. There are many personal benefits to getting involved with performing arts, particularly for people who are shy as it boosts confidence, taking part will open doors socially and will allow your children to make new friends more easily.

Frederick Douglas Performing Arts have chosen to support Great Ormond Street as our charity, a percentage of our profit is sent to GOSH each year after costs have been covered. We chose Great Ormond Street because it is a charity close to Deborah’s heart and we thank everyone for their support with the funds raised for them.
