Music and Movement

in Care Home settings

Music and Movement can help with emotional and psychological needs. Music, songs, singing and playing instruments all
contribute to creative expression and stimulation, as well as group participation.

During the sessions, the participants will experiment with different types of instruments such as: rhythm sticks, egg shakers and bells. They will participate in bean bag activities and dance with scarves and streamers. They will also enjoy taking part in routines and singing
along to some of their favourite songs.

IWow wow wow... what a fabulous hour of musical movement at my Mum’s Care home today. Mum was totally engrossed the whole time, captivated by the songs, the props and the two lovely ladies who filled the room with music, smiles and laughter. There was never a dull moment and I have never seen my Mum take part in anything so whole heartedly as this for a long time. Absolutely brilliant.
